New Mexico
     Sacred Harp

Sacred Harp is a traditional style of community singing that features four vocal parts.  We sing without instruments from tunebooks printed in shape notes.

There are never any fees or commitments required.  Come when you can.

Anyone can join in and sing Sacred Harp—no musical experience or knowledge is needed.

Sacred Harp is a distinctively American tradition that actively unites communities in singing. It is welcoming, democratic, and fiercely inclusive.

Our Books

We sing out of several books in New Mexico.  The primary book in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe is the Sacred Harp 1991 Denson Revision. Both groups will update to the new 2025 Denson edition when it is released in the Fall of 2025.

Santa Fe Sacred Harp also sings out of The Shenandoah Harmony, while singings in Albuquerque also use the Sacred Harp 2012 Cooper Revision and High Desert Harmony.

Throughout the year, small events are held that use a variety of other books.
